Despite Dona Sarkar’s optimistic tweet from yesterday, Windows Insiders won’t get a new Redstone 4 build this week after all. The head of the Windows Insider Program has just announced that the team needs more time to deal with bug reports submitted during the holidays:
#WindowsInsiders: we need to fix more of the bugs you reported over the holidays and test them before we flight again. No builds this week. We'll check in next week. Thank you! <3

Considering that the team is just back from holidays, it’s ok to wait a couple more days if it means we’ll get a more polished build. At this point in the Windows 10 development cycle, new Redstone 4 builds are a bit rough around the edges, and we did encounter our fair share of issues when playing with the Windows 10 build 17063. Of course, that’s the whole point of being in the Fast Ring: getting early access to new Windows 10 features, catching some bug and submitting detailed feedback to the Windows Insider team.
If Microsoft does plan to complete the next major Windows 10 update in March, then the company still has a little more than two months to add more features and squash as many as bugs possible. In the meantime, keep the feedback coming and we’ll keep you posted next week.
