It’s been nearly a week since Microsoft released the Windows 10 Insider build 17682 to Fast Ring and Skip Ahead Insiders, and today the company is following suit with the Windows 10 SDK Preview build 17682. This latest version will allow developers to package their apps as MSIX, Microsoft’s modern deployment technology for apps.

Microsoft notes that MSIX isn’t supported by the App Certification Kit nor the Microsoft Store as of today, but developers can still use the MakeAppx tool to package their apps with MSIX. To learn more about MSIX, we invite you to watch the Build 2018 session below which has all the details about the packaging technology.

The other important changes that Microsoft mentioned is the release notes concern the the C/C++ ETW code generation of mc.exe (Message Compiler), and we invite you to check the full blog posts for more details. As usual, this new Preview SDK build is available to download from the developer section of Microsoft’s Windows Insider website.
