Microsoft has just announced the release of a cumulative update for the Windows 10 20H1 build 18965 that shipped to Fast Ring Insiders yesterday. The new build 18965.1005 (KB4517787) includes no new features, and the Windows Insider team explained that the purpose of this new flight is to test its servicing stack.

#WindowsInsiders in the Fast ring will see an update to build 18965 now available. It will revise the build number to 18965.1005. No features in this update, we’re testing the servicing stack as we’ve done in the past. Let us know if you hit any snags! https://t.co/PNesDbGi9e

“This Cumulative Update is a little bit bigger as it is designed to help us test our servicing pipeline with larger updates. This update contains nothing new. We simply updated the version numbers of several components in the OS,” the team explained in an update to the blog post for the build 18965.

If you have yet to install it, the build 18965 is a minor update that brings a new app restart setting, as well as refreshed Feedback Hub which should be rolling out to all Insiders in the Fast Ring. We hope the next 20H1 flight will be a regular build with more new features for Insiders.
