Microsoft releases ‘Dryad’ technologies High Performance Computing CTP

Microsoft’s High Performance Computing team have launched a new beta program of the Dryad, DSC, and DryadLINQ set of technologies. These latest additions are meant to provide developers the means to explore data-intensive computing revolving around data-mining, image and stream processing, and scientific computations.

Dryad and its associated technologies are designed to run on a Windows HPC Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 cluster. HPC Server 2008 R2 is available here as an evaluation pack and Service Pack 1 is available here. For those interested in joining the beta, head on over to the Connect website.
