In the hoopla of Windows 10 Insider Previews and Groove updates for PC and mobile users participating in the Fast Ring releases of build this week, the Office team quietly pushed out an update to its Office Insider preview platform.
Anneliese, a Microsoft forum moderator, announced the release of Insider build 16.0.6868.2054 for Office 2016 on Windows desktop yesterday. In a short and sweet post in the Microsoft community forum, Anneliese updates Office 2016 Insiders to the changes and fixes that accompany the new release that include:
- Collaboration made easy: In Word and PowerPoint, core sharing capabilities, a new document activity feed, presence information, and Skype for Business instant messaging are now available at a glance in the upper-right corner of documents that you’re sharing with others.
- AutoCAD support: In Visio, you can now import AutoCAD 2010 and AutoCAD 2013 files into the app.
That’s not nearly as long a list as the Groove or Windows 10 Insider Previews have boasted, but then again, Office is a much more mature and stable platform than the other two right now.
