Late last night, Microsoft moved the Windows 10 PC build 16299 to Windows Insiders who have devices enrolled in the Slow Ring. Coming just three days after this build was released to Fast Ring Insiders, the release is replacing build 16296 as the newest Slow Ring release.

As has been routine over the past couple of weeks, build 16299 brings no new features and is mainly focused on fixing issues with Microsoft Edge, Windows Defender, and other key areas of the operating system. We invite you to check out our previous coverage to find the full changelog for this latest release.
Please keep in mind that the release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is fast approaching, so Microsoft is working to perfect these builds and fix the issues which Insiders have been reporting. As a result, you can expect more Slow and Fast Ring builds in the coming days, especially since head of the Windows Insider Program Dona Sarkar has said that things would be getting “very busy” in the next few days and weeks ahead.
