As reported by MSPowerUser, Microsoft has launched the official Microsoft Loop app for Windows PCs, expanding the availability of their collaborative service. Loop combines a flexible canvas with portable components that synchronize across Microsoft 365 apps. After being tested for a few years, the service was generally available in March this year. Initially accessible on the web, iOS, and Android, it was later extended to iPadOS.
With the Microsoft Loop app for Windows, users can create new pages using templates, add various Loop components, share pages with others, and access a notification feed to keep track of mentions, assigned tasks, and replies.
The three main components of the Microsoft Loop app are as follows:
- Loop Components: These are adaptable chunks of information that maintain continuity wherever they are shared. They can be lists, tables, notes, and more. Users can collaborate on Loop pages using Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, Whiteboard, and the Loop app components.
- Loop Pages: These are adaptable workspaces where users combine individuals with all their components, relationships, projects, and data. Loop pages can be shared across Microsoft 365 apps as links or embedded Loop components. They are designed to grow over time to accommodate expanding thoughts and ideas.
- Loop Workspaces: These open areas allow teams to view and organize crucial project information. This makes it easy to keep track of everyone’s contributions and monitor progress towards common goals.
The Microsoft Loop app for Windows is available for download from the Microsoft Store for PCs running Windows 10 version 19041.0 or higher.
