Microsoft has been pushing its Bing search engine through partnerships, enhanced services, and other approaches to growing Bing’s share in search, and the company is enjoying some success. In January, for example, Bing was the only search engine to demonstrate growth. Today, in an effort to better connect customers with products and businesses, Microsoft introduced the Bing Network, which will will be powered by Bing’s impressive search engine to offer a more comprehensive search experience than is offered on Google.
Microsoft’s General Manager of Advertising and Consumer Monetization Group, Stephen Sirich, explained what the Bing Network will do and what it represents:
“Today, I’d like to introduce you to the new Bing Network. At Bing, we’re building a platform that gives people “knowledge for doing” in a more natural, predictive and personal way. It’s the intelligence that spans not just across Microsoft products but across platforms and across partners. Bing Network connects you to the moments that matter by being in the products people use every day. With the transition of all U.S. accounts (and with them, people and account management) from Yahoo to Bing, the Bing Network also represents an expanded network of partners, including AOL, Wall Street Journal and more, adding more searches and clicks to the network every day.”

Bing Network is partnering with AOL, GumTree, Wall Street Journal and Infospace, to add more search capabilities and make searches more relevant. Via Bing Network, Microsoft’s earch engine will help build and expand brands to help businesses “be there,” to connect consumers with the products and services that matter most to them.
