Microsoft is celebrating Solitaire’s 25th anniversary on Windows with a preview of the latest version of Solitaire on Windows 10. This app is universal and will come bundled with Windows 10 once the operating system is finalized and released this summer.
May 2015 marks the 25th anniversary of Microsoft Solitaire, which was first pre-installed on Windows 3.0 back in 1990. The game made it all the way to Windows 8, when it was removed in favor of the Microsoft Solitaire Collection app from the Windows Store. Now, the game returns to Windows 10 with Microsoft Solitaire Collection pre-installed.
As Microsoft notes, this preview app (only available on the leaked build as of right now) will not save any user data when the game is closed. You can play the game to explore it, to get an idea of what’s coming in the final release of Windows 10.
Microsoft Solitaire Collection Preview features several different types of games, such as Klondike, Spider, FreeCell, Pyramid, and TriPeaks. There are daily challenges, achievements to unlock, and various themes you can select from. Check out the images of the game below.
