On the heels of its HoloLens 2 debut, Microsoft’s is promoting its Mixed Reality Platform with a new developer event dubbed Mixed Reality Dev Days.

From May 2, 2019, until May 3, 2019, developers will get a chance to see and engage with the new technologies Microsoft plans to bring to its new Mixed Reality platform as well as network with others in the augmented and virtual reality communities.

Specifically, devs will have a chance to:

  • Code alongside our engineering teams.
  • Learn and test the latest in our portfolio: HoloLens 2, new Azure mixed reality services, Azure Kinect Developer Kit, and more!
  • Connect with developers like you who are leading a new era of mixed reality applications.
Dev Days is designed for you—your ideas, your feedback. We would love to get your input, learn more about you, your customers and work, and how we can better work alongside you. As we move into this third wave of computing, one based on open principles, Microsoft is a trusted partner who values your feedback. Dev Days is one of the first of many opportunities to build that relationship with you.

Similar to other Microsoft developer conferences, the company would like to gather people in person and MR Dev Days will be coalescing individuals at the company’s Redmond Campus.

At the moment, there are no details regarding the price per ticker or whether or not if the event will also be live streamed, but devs can request an invite here.

As Microsoft pitches its Mixed Reality platform, more specifically its HoloLens AR platform as the next computing paradigm, this new developer conference could be the conception of the company’s next BUILD conference in terms of stature.
