Microsoft has announced today that the company has added some new handy features in its OneNote mobile, desktop, and web apps. Here’s some of what Microsoft has worked on:
- Audio recording – Users of OneNote on the web or on iOS devices can now add audio to their notes. To add an audio clip to a note on the web, users can click Insert, then Record Audio. Users on iOS can insert audio clips on OneNote by bringing up the keyboard, then tapping the microphone icon on the insert/formatting bar right above the keyboard.
- File attachments – Users of OneNote on the web can now attach files to their notes. They can do this by simply clicking Insert and File Attachment then select the file they want to attach.
- Embedding videos – Users of OneNote 2016 on the desktop can now embed online videos from YouTube, Vimeo, and Office Mix directly into their notes. To insert a video, users can click Insert and Online Video and paste the URL of the video into the text dialog. Microsoft says they are working on adding more available sources users can insert videos from sometime in the future.
- OneNote badges – Android users can now jot notes anytime without even needing to leave an app simply by tapping the new floating OneNote badge which can be shown by tapping the OneNote notification the phone’s notification drawer. When done with the note, the user can simply pull the badge to the bottom of the screen over the X icon to hide it.
- Force Touch – Users of the new iPhone 6S or 6S+ can now create new notes quickly by lightly touching the OneNote app on the home screen using Apple’s new Force Touch feature.
