Windows Phone 8.1 update, which will roll out alongside the Lumia Cyan firmware update for Nokia devices, will together bring a handful of exclusive Nokia features for Windows Phone 8 devices. Recently, Microsoft’s imaging experts Juha Alakarhu and Eero Salmelin took an AMA (ask me anything) session on the Nokia Conversations blog, and as always, they were bombarded with some important questions. One Lumia 1520 user asked about the improvements Lumia Cyan will bring for the handset.

Juha Alakarhu revealed some of the improvements the latest update will bring for the high-end Lumia models, including Lumia 1520, 930, and Icon. Lumia Cyan will improve the low light performance of the devices, as well as improve video quality and offer better colors when capturing images using the above mentioned devices. Here’s a list of imaging improvements Alakarhu mentioned:

  • Much better low light performance
  • Better colors
  • Continuous autofocus
  • Better video quality
  • And even the raw images will look better because we are using the sensor in more clever way.

We are following the AMA on the Conversations blog, and will update you if anything interesting is revealed about the update.
