According to OnLeaks, the French leaker purportedly found images of the at-one-time cancelled white Lumia 850. With the recent launch of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, it looks like there was another Lumia on the horizon for Microsoft. The Lumia 850 was supposedly going to sport the same design features of previous Lumias with curved edges, matte plastic, and camera reminiscent of the Lumia 640 XL.
The Lumai 850 has what looks like metallic trim, a removable back and 3.5 mm headphone jack on the bottom of the device, and the dimensions are rumored to be 155.9 mm x 77.23 mm x 6.92 mm. Evleaks added on Twitter that the Lumia 850, or as he calls it, “Honjo”, also has a front-facing flash, gold trim, and a gold Microsoft logo on the back.

With all the problems surrounding carrier availability of the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL, it might be nice to have another mid-range Lumia option. OnLeaks revealed that Lumia 850 was one of two phones that were cancelled at the last minute by Satya Nadella. The Lumia 750 was also going to be release alongside the Lumia 550, Lumia 950, and Lumia 950 XL. Based on his source, OnLeaks confirms that the Lumia 850 is still supposedly going to be released (translated from French by Bing):
“Some of my colleagues had then said that the launch of these two Windows Phones would purely and simply was canceled at the last minute due to a restructuring announced by Satya Nadella. Information contradicted a few days later by these same sources. Are you as I am this evening, as OnLeaks, able to confirm that the release of at least one of these two new models is actually maintained. One of the 850 Lumia which I propose you to discover the design and the dimensions revealed by industrial plans that I purchased with my most loyal informer.”
No official comment by Microsoft on when, or even if, the Lumia 850 will be released.
