Luke Skywalker and other Star Wars content is coming to Fortnite this season – onmsft.com

Evidence of more Fortnite Star Wars content has been found by leakers and those digging through the files of the latest update that rolled out with the launch of Chapter 3 Season 4: Paradise this past weekend.

The most noteworthy find has been the addition of Luke Skywalker’s blue and green lightsabers from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi respectively.

FORTNITE x STAR WARS (Again)

Epic have some Star Wars challenges that give 30k XP each for this season, and accolades. They also added 2 “A New Hope” & “Return of the Jedi” Lightsabers for Luke Skywalker, so he’s most likely releasing this season. pic.twitter.com/uxb9d6DiE0

The fan-favorite green lightsaber has appeared in Fortnite during previous Star Wars events where it was simply called “Luke’s Lightsaber.” This time around, it’ll be renamed as “Return of the Jedi.”

Luke’s blue lightsaber has also already appeared in Fortnite though under the name of “Rey’s Lightsaber.” For those unfamiliar with Star Wars lore, Rey eventually inherits Luke’s blue laser sword in Episode VII: The Force Awakens. This same lightsaber was also owned by Anakin Skywalker in Episode III: The Revenge of the Sith. When it returns to Fortnite this season, it’ll use the name “A New Hope” to differentiate itself from Luke’s other lightsaber.

It’s unclear if these lightsabers will be weapons like in previous Star Wars Fortnite events or if Epic Games will finally give fans what they want and unlock them as pickaxes.

What is known is that Luke Skywalker himself will finally be added as an outfit/skin this season. Given that both of his lightsabers are returning, it’s pretty much a given that the character will get two different appearances based on how he looks when using each lightsaber in the films. The black outfit from Return of the Jedi and The Mandalorian is a given to match the green lightsaber but the look for the blue one is a bit of a mystery as Luke uses it in both A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back and Luke sports a number of looks in both films.

While hints at other new Star Wars characters haven’t been discovered yet, more are likely to drop alongside Luke Skywalker with Leia Organa and Han Solo being obvious choices. Some content based on the new Star Wars Andor TV series, which debuted on Disney Plus today, is also likely.

In addition to the Luke Skywalker content, some Star Wars-related 30K XP rewards and accolades for this season have also been found.
