Microsoft has just released two new Beta Channel builds for Windows 11 Insiders to test out, 22621.885 and 22623.885. Unlike with some builds, there’s some interesting stuff in here:
First from the “new features rolling out” build 22623.885, settings for Windows Studio Effects can now be found in Quick Settings. For devices that include a supported NPU (Neural Processing Unit), these settings make it easier to “enable and configure camera effects (Background Blur, Eye Contact, and automatic framing) and audio effects (Voice Focus).” You can still configure these settings from Settings, but they’re also available in Quick Settings now too.
Also included in this build are new Energy Recommendations. Available via Settings>System>Power & Battery>Energy Recommendations, Windows will now offer recommendations to “to improve the energy efficiency of your PC and reduce your carbon footprint.”
Now available for both builds are some changes allowing you to expand or collapse the size of your widgets board with a simple click on a familiar icon:
Along with these changes, there’s the usual long list of changes, fixes, improvements and known issues. Be sure to check out the Windows Insider blog post for all the details.
