Microsoft have just announced that the next version of Windows, Windows 8 is coming on October 26th 2012. The company recently announced that the development of Windows 8 was right on track, and that it should reach RTM in August. They also said Windows 8 will be available by the end of October.

“…October 26th, 2012! That’s right! Just a few minutes ago, Steven Sinofsky announced at Microsoft’s annual sales meeting that customers will be able to get Windows 8,” Microsoft stated in an official blog post.

Now that we all have the date, are you excited for Windows 8? (Yes, that rhymed). We can’t wait to get our hands on it! When Windows 8 hits RTM in August, it shouldn’t be long before users on Technet and MSDN get their hands on it, since they get early access to the ISO’s.

Recent rumours suggested that Windows 8 would launch on October 28th, whether that ‘was’ true is debatable, since the company is always changing dates, development could have sped up since those rumours, who knows?!
