A report in Taiwan’s Commercial Times has suggested that Microsoft is preparing to conduct trial production runs of their rumored Surface Phone smartphone through the same mainland Chinese company they use for making the Surface Studio, ODM Pegatron. No other information has been given and this hasn’t been confirmed one way or the other from Microsoft but with the new phone expected to release sometime in 2017, it would make sense that trial productions would begin soon.
Microsoft still hasn’t officially confirmed the existence of the Surface Phone but rumours have persisted that the device has been in some sort of pre-production throughout 2016. Just last week, Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella, revealed in an interview that Microsoft was not leaving the mobile market anytime soon and that the company’s next attempt at developing a smartphone would be the, “ultimate mobile device”.
