Around a month ago, Instagram announced a new feature for users of its Android and iOS apps – Instagram Stories. The feature brings Snapchat-like functionality to the popular photography app, where photos can be published to a story on a users profile but disappear after 24 hours, rather than being permanent.
The Stories feature goes a little further, too. Users are able to apply filters and sketch over the photos. As the Windows 10 Mobile app is a port of the iOS app, it supports the same features and works in the same way – simply pull from the left to begin creating a new Story and then add the photos as desired, add the filters and sketches and publish it for followers to view within a 24-hour period.
In our testing of the update on a Lumia 950 XL, the app crashed on launch following the update and hasn’t launched since, on the Fast Ring in the Windows Insider program, running Redstone 2, however, others have reported success in being able to use the app.
The update is available to download in the Windows Store now on Windows 10 Mobile.
