Google will now show results local to you based on device location

Google

Google has announced that the way it displays search results to users is changing. Previously, search results would display on a per-country basis depending on the domain Google was set to load via, such as .com or .co.uk.

Now, regardless of the way in which you load Google, be it .com or co.uk, on mobile, desktop or via an app, Google will now detect a users’ location of the device being used and display the results that are more local and relevant to you.

Whether you use Google as a default search engine on your Windows PC or Windows phone or use the Google Search app, the results will be localised. This means that, for example, if you set your Windows PC to load the US version of Google from within the UK, Google will instead show UK results regardless.
