Gears Pop!, Microsoft’s new free-to-play game set in the Gears of War universe is now available to download on Windows 10, iOS, and Android. Gears Pop! Is an interesting mix of Gears of War and Funko Pop! figurines, and the result is a family-friendly tower defense game that should appeal to players of games like Supercell’s Clash Royale.
Gears Pop! also comes with 45 Xbox Live achievements at launch, and you can also access cloud saves across Windows 10, iOS, and Android. However, it seems that you can’t be signed in in Gears Pop! with the same Xbox Live account on two devices at the same time, which is a bit of a letdown.
Still, the timing of this release is excellent as we’re just a couple of weeks away from the release of Gears 5 on Xbox One and Windows 10. Microsoft’s latest first-party game will need all the hype it can get to avoid being outshined by Borderlands 3, a real heavy hitter to be released just 3 days after Gears 5.
