Fandango app for Windows Phone update, becomes usable

Fandango isn’t new to the Windows Phone platform, but usability of it is. “Crashes when trying to do anything. Can’t input a location. After entering a zip code, the app tells me to enter a zip code and then crashes. Please fix”, was just one of the many comments included on the download page.

Now that has changed with version 1.6, which has just been released. Early reports show the app is now working properly. The developer reports the update includes “usability enhancements and general bug fixes”.

If you aren’t familiar with it, Fandango allows the user to check local movie showing times, grab tickets (sometimes even with a discount code) and get a synopsis before making a decision on what you want to spend your ticket money on.

The app is free, though your theater experience will certainly not be. Given ticket prices and the cost of snacks and drinks, it may very well end up being a rather expensive app. But, at least you can grab that ticket for the next blockbuster ahead of time.
