While Facebook’s beta app has been available for a while now on Windows 10 Mobile, it’s been just that: a beta. For anyone who’s reluctant to run unreleased software for fear of running into issues, then, Microsoft’s mobile platform has been something of a disappointment for Facebook fans.
Today, however, Facebook seems to have finally caught up with the platform, as they’ve released the app on a more official basis for Windows 10 Mobile. Here are the details:
Thanks for using Facebook! To make our app better for you, we regularly bring updates to the Windows Store. Every update of our Facebook app includes improvements for speed and reliability. As new features become available, we’ll highlight those for you in the app.
Features
- See what friends are up to
- Share updates, photos and videos
- Be notified when friends like and comment on your posts
As far as we can tell, the app seems as full-featured as its iOS and Android rivals and performance is comparable. You can download the app via the link below, and let us know in the comments what you think.
Note: For Windows 10 Mobile users not updated to the Anniversary release of the OS, Microsoft’s sanctioned Facebook app may still pop up in the Store when searching. To differentiate the two, the Facebook icon with the small ‘F’ is the new updated and official Facebook app. Keep an eye for the difference if you’re keen to keeping the old experience over the newer one.
