Cross platform stack Ionic now supporting Windows 10 Universal Windows App platform

Microsoft steadily campaigns for further development on many of their platform and with the recent release of Windows 10, their focus has been on Universal Windows Platform apps. Announced today is another tool for developers to create UWP apps on the Windows 10 platform from the company Ionic.

Ionic is a cross-platform development technology for mobile platforms. Available for iOS and Android, Ionic has received many requests for Windows 10 support and has responded with Ionic 2 bet.3 component set and UI control. In their release statement, they mention:

Windows support has been an oft-requested feature for a number of important reasons. First, many enterprise companies have large deployments of Windows Phones and want to build apps more easily for them. Second, mobile Windows devices like the Surface are proliferating and we want to make it easy to build apps that run on those devices, too. As an added benefit, Windows 10 sports JavaScript as a native app development language which we think is just swell
