The time of the month is here again, comScore has released their monthly data that shows how well mobile operating systems, as well as the manufacturers, are performing in the US. Android continues to dominate with 51.9 percent market share, falling from 52.1 percent. As for Windows Phone, the growth remained stable with its market share jumping from 3.3 percent to 3.4 percent — even the report in May came with similar figure, that is, 3.4 percent.

“comScore, a leader in measuring the digital world, today released data from comScore MobiLens and Mobile Metrix, reporting key trends in the U.S. smartphone industry for June 2014. Apple ranked as the top smartphone manufacturer with 42.1 percent OEM market share, while Google Android led as the #1 smartphone platform with 51.9 percent platform market share. Facebook ranked as the top individual smartphone app.,” says the report

On the other hand, iOS gained 0.7 percent, bumping its market share to 42.1 percent in the operating systems war. Additionally, Apple was also crowned as the top smartphone manufacturer in the US with a 42.1 percent share, followed by Samsung and LG with 28.6 and 6.4 percent, respectively. The remaining OEMs in the top five list include Motorola and HTC.

The report doesn’t only list the top smartphone manufacturer and the platform, but also lists the top apps in the US. It shouldn’t come as a surprising news that Facebook and YouTube continues to top the charts, followed by Google Play as the runner up.
