In a pair of Microsoft Roadmap entries, the company has announced that both Excel for Windows and Excel for Mac users will now be able to automate their tasks easily in preview, with general availability coming in October. They will be able to create, edit, and run Office Scripts using the Code Editor and All Scripts taskpane.

If you are not familiar with Office Scripts, it is a feature that allows Excel users to automate repetitive spreadsheet tasks. This feature was previously exclusive to Excel for Web users but is now rolling out to Excel for Windows and Excel for Mac users under the feature ID tag 98157 and 98158 respectively.  In other news, Microsoft Excel incorporated a new feature that lets users insert images in cells seamlessly.
