With Microsoft’s launch of Windows 10 S, a locked-down edition of Windows 10 that only permits apps installed via the Windows Store, many traditional desktop programs are unusable, such as Google’s Chrome web browser.
Now, Citrix has made its app Citrix Receiver available in the Windows Store. Citrix Receiver allows users to run Win32 programs on Windows 10, as well as Windows 10 S, through virtualisation. In addition to Windows 10 and Windows 10 S, the app also supports Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 IoT and HoloLens.
So, if you’ve got a Windows 10 S device, running those classic Win32 programs is once again a possibility.
