Samsung unveiled a plethora of products at the press event last night held in Las Vegas, including the Samsung Ativ Book 9 2014 edition, a 15.6-inch Laptop running Windows 8 as its operating system. Let’s take a look at what the Samsung Ativ Book 9, a new addition to Samsung’s laptop portfolio, has to offer.
The Samsung Ativ Book 9 offers a slim, attractive design, measuring 374.3 x 249.9 mm and weighs only 1.85kg, making it a very decent portable laptop. The PC runs Windows 8 as its operating system, and interested users can easily upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free. If you’re unsure about the process, we’ve covered a detailed guide to help users upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 without any hassle.
Moving on to the specifications of the laptop, the Samsung Ativ Book 9 comes with a 15.6′ FHD display sporting a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and “offers a 20 percent brighter, 125 percent higher definition display than the previous generation Book 9 with wide-angle viewing perfect for professionals looking to maximize productivity anytime, anywhere,” according to the company.
Users have the option of either Intel Core i5 or i7 processors with 8GB of RAM on board and support of up to 1024GB solid-state drive. Other features include 720P camera, Intel HD Graphics 4400, 2 USB 3.0 ports, 1 USB 2.0 port, HDMI, mini VGA, RJ45 (with Adapter), SD, HP/Mic, Slim Security Lock and will hit retail in a solid black color.
The company claims the Samsung Ativ Book 9 is capable of delivering a battery life of up to 14-hours for an all day use. Well, this is pretty impressive if it’s true — it’s equally impressive if it can deliver even half of what it claims.
There’s no word about the pricing of the upcoming notebook, but it will hit global markets later in 2014. We’ll update you as soon an official date is announced along with the price.
