You Can Now Pre-order The NuAns Neo Windows 10 Mobile Device In Japan – onmsft.com

In a recent post, the NuAns NEO is now available for pre-order in Japan. The NEO will run Windows 10 Mobile and also provide support for Continuum as NuAns’ specially designed display dock that doubles as a desk lamp. It appears that NuAns brought a much different and more fun perspective to how a Windows 10 Mobile device could be.

The NEO has a split-back design that is much different take on a Windows 10 Mobile device than the current Lumia 950 or Lumia 950 XL running Windows 10 Mobile. At the current time, NEO has 64 possible top and bottom cover configurations available, offering a large amount of user customization.

The NEO base model is priced at ¥46,116 which equals to approximately $370. The NEO is clearly a mid-range Windows 10 Mobile device with 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 617, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and a 5-inch, 1280 x 720 display. The NEO is also quite a hefty device at 11.3 mm; by comparison the Lumia 950 XL is 8.1 mm.

Another highlight of the NEO is the interchangeable backplates which come in various materials and colors; like faux wood, slate, or plastic, and colors like yellow, green, or white. The backplates are relatively inexpensive, priced at ¥15,12 or approximately $12 apiece.

No word yet on whether this phone will ever see the light of day in the US, but from it’s nice to see a company other than Microsoft provide a Windows 10 Mobile device that thinks outside the box. So if you are in Japan and you have the yen to spare, head on over to the NuAns Store and get started on creating your own unique Windows 10 Mobile device.
