Day one of Build 2017 is underway, and as expected the introducing keynote of Microsoft’s annual developer conference is all about artificial intelligence, Cortana, Azure and the Internet of Things. During one of the segments, Microsoft showcased how the power of AI can how it can be used to recognize images in the real world and even prevent accidents in the workplace.

Seen in the video above, Microsoft is showing the world how things and people can be found in the real world and in real time using existing cameras and advances in AI. The video demonstration even shows how the technology can be used to identify and avoid a dangerous spill in a factory, and how the technology can be used to guide a construction worker to a specific tool.

Safe to say this is very impressive stuff, and that someone’s science fiction dreams have finally come true. Let us know your thoughts on this video by dropping us a comment below. And be sure to keep it tuned to OnMSFT for all the latest news coming out of Build 2017.
