We’re all used to taking part in votes in television programs. You might not watch the likes of America’s Got Talent and the X Factor, but you’re probably aware that it’s possible to use your phone to express your opinion about the acts performing. If you’re concerned that this is perhaps not the best use of technology, the latest joint venture between Bing and Fox News may restore your confidence.
It’s not the first time it has been done, but Bing Pulse will be used to gauge reaction to President Obama’s State of the Union address today. Bing Pulse can be used on PC as well as mobile devices, and the results of polls will be broadcast on Fox News.
Following on from the popularity of the idea last year, Microsoft is this year adding a new of new options to Bing Pulse. This includes annotated graphs which allow users to see a breakdown of how others are responding to the speech.
It will certainly be interesting to see how people feel about what is said, and the graphs can be used to see how reactions are split only political and gender lines.
