Microsoft has been doing a lot of recent work with educational institutions, most recently using Office 365. Now the company’s search engine is getting in on the action as well.
Today, Bing announces a plan to make classrooms safer by bringing an ad-free experience to schools. “The next phase of the Bing in the Classroom program is now underway, including broad availability of ad-free, safer, more private search to all eligible K-12 public and private schools in the U.S.”, says Microsoft’s Athima Chansanchai.
Beginning now, all qualified school districts can register for this. There is no charge either, so budget concerns can be ignored for this service. “That means no waitlist, no installation or new settings, just one online form and all Bing.com searches on a school network can be ad-free within a few days of registration”, Microsoft claims.
