Bill Gates is the latest tech figurehead to accept the ALS ice bucket challenge. Accepting the nomination from Mark Zuckerberg, Bill built a structure to dump a bucket of ice water on his head. He then nominated Elon Musk, Ryan Seacrest, and Chris Anderson from TED for the challenge.
Bill steps the ice dumping up a notch by building a rig to hold the water bucket while he pulls a rope to dump the water. Staying true to his Microsoft roots, the video opens with Bill watching the video of Mark Zuckerberg on a Surface Pro 3. A nice touch to the video.
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge is a social media movement where people post videos of themselves dumping a bucket of ice water over their heads. Once they complete this, they are able to challenge others to either do the same or make a donation to an organization dedicated to fighting ALS. This is exactly what Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella did just recently.
