Beats Music for Windows Phone 8 nowhere to be seen, now listed as 'coming soon'

Beats Music launched just a few days ago with hopes to take on rivals like Spotify, Rdio, Xbox Music and more. Unfortunately, during the launch, the Beats Music app was not available for Windows Phone users – available only for those on Android or iOS. Beats took it to Twitter to mention that an app would arrive January 24th.

Unfortunately, there is no Beats Music app for Windows Phone available. A quick visit to the service’s website showcases an updated message that states “Coming soon to Windows Phone Store.” No details have been given as to why the release date has been pushed, but it sure does frustrate eager Windows Phone users who wanted to give the service a spin, as evident by a flood of angry tweets on Twitter.

We all know the app certification process can be quite lengthy, or perhaps the Windows Phone app experienced a last minute bug or flaw that prevented it from passing verification. Either way, we must now wait a bit longer before trying out Beats on Windows Phone.

Beats Music experienced connectivity issues just hours after its launch, which prompted Beats to increase the trial period of seven days to fourteen days. Here’s what Beats had to say about the outage:

“Due to the extremely high volume of interest in our service some users are experiencing issues. Most people are unaffected but our priority is to give everyone a great experience. We prepared for issues like these, have a plan, and are going to hold off on letting more people in while we put this plan in action.”

As soon as the app becomes available for Windows Phone 8, we will let you know! Stay tuned. Are you still looking forward to trying out the music service on your Windows Phone device?
