AT&T and Verizon Wireless will exclude some preinstalled Microsoft apps from the Samsung Galaxy S6

The new Microsoft has been striking up partnerships with Android OEMs to get them preinstalling its services and apps on Android smartphones. Samsung was one of the first to get on board, and more recently, Cyanogen.

However it seems that carriers will also get a say on what apps will be preinstalled before devices get into the hands of customers. It was recently revealed by the Wall Street Journal that US carriers AT&T and Verizon Wireless will exclude some of Microsoft’s apps from the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge.

Three apps in particular; Skype, OneNote, and OneDrive will not come preinstalled on Galaxy S6 devices sold through Verizon Wireless, while only OneDrive will be omitted from the AT&T models. Neither Samsung, Microsoft, or Verizon representatives agreed to talk about why the apps are being excluded, so your guess is as good as ours. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
