Windows tablet or Android tablet? Android or Windows? If you’re having trouble deciding which route to go down, ASUS could have the answer you’ve been looking for — a tablet that runs both. This is not the first time this has been done, but it looks as though some new devices could be on the way.
A listing for some interesting devices from ASUS has been spotted one the FCC website. The FCC (Federal Communications Commission) is regulates, amongst other things, devices that feature wireless networking cards.
ASUS has submitted a number of devices for testing, including some Windows tablets and some Android tablets. But there are three models — the M82T, L82T, and R82T — that are listed as Dual OS tablets, although the documentation reports that “all models are electronically identical”.
There are not many details given, but it is clear that 32GB and 64GB models exist and that they include a 3,910mAh battery. ASUS has made no announcements yet, but there’s not long to wait until CES, so we may find out more then
If you fancy reading through the FCC documentation you can do so at the VIA link below — but be warned, it is pretty heavy going!
Would you be interested in a split personality tablet? Can you see the benefit of running Windows and Android on the same device, or would you rather keep the two separate?
