An official Amazon Prime Video app has been discovered (cheers AL) in the Microsoft Store app store. The app listing, complete with description and images, is live and viewable by anyone in multiple regions though the app itself still can’t be downloaded from its product page.
Here’s the official store description for the Amazon Prime Video app:

A proper Amazon Prime Video Windows 10 app has been a long time coming with users currently having to watch media via their web browser. While the web version works, it doesn’t support the downloading of TV episodes and movies for offline viewing, something that this new app will be able to do. An Amazon Video app has been available on Microsoft’s Xbox One consoles for a few years now.
