Forza Motorsport 7

After much anticipation, Forza Motorsport 7 launched last Friday for players with deep wallets opting for the $100 Ultimate Edition of the game. Many who have received this edition have complained about the lack of VIP pass benefits. The pass usually gives access to extra money, cars, and the ability to level up faster in the game, but turns out it has not lived up to what it has been in the past. After all the controversy, Microsoft altered the Forza Motorsport 7 VIP listing to reflect the changes (via Windows Central).

Before the launch of the Ultimate Edition of the game, the VIP pass listing mentioned that the pass gives access to a 100% CR bonus and more. As pointed out on Reddit, it fails to mention that Forza 7 VIP mods are only limited to five uses.

Exclusive cars Mods Driver Gear and more await with Forza Motorsport 7 VIP membership! Forza Motorsport 7 VIP members receive exclusive VIP cars. VIPs will receive additional benefits including 100% CR bonus Mods VIP Driver Gear and more. Get your VIP membership today!

Now, here is a look at the updated listing for the VIP pass. Obviously edited to improve clarity, and the fact that VIP mods are limited.

Forza Motorsport 7 VIP membership features exclusive rewards you can’t get anywhere else! Forza Motorsport VIPs receive exclusive VIP cars, VIP Driver Gear Suits, as well as five 100% CR bonus Mod cards (five uses each per card), and more. Get your VIP membership today!

Realistically, one needs to look at this from two ends. Firstly, the limit on the VIP benefits is clearly a push to get players to embrace the game’s new Prize Crate system, which gives players access to using in-game credits to purchase mods and other extras to help progression in the game. Secondly, as we noted in our review, it also encourages players to explore the career mode thoroughly and progress through the series the hard way— just as real-world racers would.

Of course, this is still very upsetting anyway, especially since players who shell out the extra money for a VIP pass are expected to get the faster progression and more bonuses. In a world where micro-transactions are becoming more common in games, It’s safe to say it’ll be a new saga to be discussed for a long time to come. Let us know your thoughts below.
