Microsoft is holding a Windows Mixed Reality Event in San Francisco today, and while there is no live stream the company already published a blog post to share all the important news. Starting today, all Windows Mixed Reality headsets from Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, as well as the latest model from Samsung are now available to pre-order on the Microsoft Store. Prices start at $399 (motion controllers included), and all models except the Samsung HMD Odyssey will start shipping on October 17.
Speaking of the Samsung headset, it’s currently the most expensive model with a $499 price, and it will start shipping on November 6. It features an OLED display with a 2880 x 1600 resolution, dedicated headphones as well as dual array mics.

To use these headsets, you’ll need to install the Fall Creators Update on your PC, which will start rolling out to all Windows 10 users on October 17. “It’s the first spatial operating system – complete with a library of content that will inspire you, and a portfolio of the best, easiest to use and most affordable headsets paired with the most powerful motion controllers,” explained Microsoft’s Alex Kipman.
