Earlier this month, we reported on how the upcoming Alcatel IDOL 4S retail packaging will look, as it includes a VR headset with the device. Now, as reported by Windows Central, we’ve discovered further specifications of the device, as well as some of the training material that T-Mobile employees in the US are being sent.
The first part of the training material compares the IDOL 4S against other phones in its category, which includes the iPhone 7 and the Samsung Galaxy S7:
As shown above, the device backs some fairly nice specs – boasting both an improved camera, battery and storage over the iPhone 7, as well as coming with a larger display than both the iPhone 7 and Samsung Galaxy S7. On top of these specifications, the Alcatel IDOL 4S running Windows 10 Mobile will support Continuum and Virtual Reality, as well as fingerprint security using Windows Hello. The 5.5″ display will have a 180-degree viewing angle using Dragontrail Glass.
As well as the specifications, we now know that the packaging of the IDOL 4S will transform into the VR goggles, known as ‘VR-as-the-box’:
In terms of a launch date of the device, there’s been no confirmed date so far, however, as the training material is available for T-Mobile employees, it looks like the launch date won’t be too far away – and could be released at a Microsoft event being held next week in New York City.
