Age of Empires is not a new name in the long list of strategy games out in the wild — the game is older than many strategy games currently available. Recently, Microsoft, in collaboration with Smoking Gun Interactive, announced Age of Empires Castle Siege, set to land on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 devices this September.
All you have to do is choose your civilization, e.g Britons, Teutons, and Kievan Rus, etc., build your empire and defend your city using walls and towers. You also get to train a massive army and lay siege on other castles which belong to other online players across the globe. The game also features Xbox Live integration so you can create your alliances with your Xbox friends, and compete against other alliances to move on top of the leaderboard.
“New to Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8, Age of Empires: Castle Siege brings a fast-paced experience to touch-based screens while delivering all the strategy and combat Age of Empires is renowned for. Choose from one of several civilizations, expand your castle into a massive city, defend your walls against marauding empires and, when your newly trained army is ready, lay siege to other castles built by online opponents,” as per the official blog post.
The game is set to hit Microsoft Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8 next month. The company didn’t reveal the exact launch date, but we’ll update you as soon as the game hits the respective app stores.
I’m really excited about the game since Age of Empires is one of my favorite strategy games. What about you? Have you played any Age of Empires title before?
