The highly anticipated Windows 10 launch is just around the corner, with July 29th only 8 days away. Manufacturers are gearing up to start selling PCs with Windows 10 pre-installed out of the box, as well as clear out their Windows 8.1 PC inventories since Windows 10 will be available as free upgrade for Windows 8.1 users. There are some manufacturers who are already taking pre-orders for Windows 10 machines and the latest one to join the list is Acer (via Windows Central).
The company’s spokesperson confirmed to Windows Central that sales will go live on July 29th, the same day when Microsoft is set to launch Windows 10, with the shipments beginning in the first week of August. Acer is expected to launch the budget-friendly Windows 10 notebook, the Aspire One CloudBook, sometime in mid-August with prices starting at $169.
HP is holding a clearance sale offering discounts up to $350 on several laptops and PC, also taking pre-orders for Windows 10 machines which the company says will start shipping on July 28th. The company said it will offer free next day shipping to customers so they can check out the new operating system on launch day.
