Microsoft has just announced new back-to-school deals with some pretty cool discounts on Surface Pro X tablets. If you’re interested in a Qualcomm-powered Surface, the Surface Pro X now starts at $799.99 ($200 off) for the base model with the SQ1 processor, while the latest version with the faster SQ2 chip can be yours for $1,199 ($300 off).

Both Surface Pro X models will be eligible for a free Windows 11 upgrade this holiday season. So far, early reports from Windows 11 on ARM testers have been pointing out the significant performance boost brought by Microsoft’s upcoming OS. Windows 10 on ARM devices were definitely hard to recommend before, but Microsoft has made great progress on the app performance front with ARM64EC, a new way to build apps for Windows 11 on ARM.

If Microsoft’s Surface Pro X tablets are not for you, the smaller Surface Go 2 is also $100 off for a limited time. You can also take advantage of up to $500 discount on select PCs and monitors on the US Microsoft Store, and the full list of deals is available on this page.
