If you’re looking to save some money on your Surface Pro 4 purchase, you might want to consider buying the base model of the device that is sold without the Surface Pen. A new report out from the folks over at UberGizmo is indicating that Microsoft is now selling certain models of the Surface Pro 4 without the inking device.
According to the report, the Microsoft Store is now selling a baseline Intel Core m3, 4GB RAM, and 128GB variant of the Surface Pro 4 without the Surface Pen. This follows the paths of other retailers such as BestBuy who have previously sold bundles without the Surface Pen, but with the Type Cover keyboard. The $799 price on the baseline model without the pen, nonetheless is still cheaper than the $899 model which has the pen. So, by purchasing the penless model, and a pen separately for $59.99, you still end up saving about $40.
