Microsoft’s Chinese chatbot avoids politics, including chat about Donald Trump
While US companies operating in China are scarce, Microsoft is one of few companies who is attempting to abide by China’s strict rules in order to operate some of its online services in the country. One of those services is a Chinese chatbot, which is used in services such as WeChat and Weibo. It has been discovered that the chatbot avoids sensitive topics, which can include things such as President-elect Donald Trump, as well as other political topics that may be of a sensitive nature.
EU to clear Microsoft’s LinkedIn acquisition, reports Reuters
Microsoft’s acquisition of LinkedIn has been a sceptical one after Salesforce announced its disapproval. EU antitrust regulators have been looking over the acquisition, and despite a few concessions that Microsoft will need to make, have apparently approved the acquisition in the EU, allowing Microsoft to purchase LinkedIn for $26 billion.
Microsoft gives all Surface Studio buyers personalized customer support
Surface Studio buyers have begun receiving their shipment notifications, but with an added extra. Microsoft has decided to give each Surface Studio buyer their own personalized support phone number. This doesn’t mean that one person is dedicated to supporting the user, rather that it si just a personal touch, by having a different number to others.
New Microsoft ad features Edge, the browser that’s “safer than Chrome”
Microsoft is at it again. This time, rather than shunning Chrome for having worse battery life than Edge, the company has decided to promote Edge’s security as being stronger than Chrome’s. In a new ad, posted on Twitter, the company explains how Edge is more secure, attempting to entice new users to Edge by making them feel safer when shopping online, particularly over the holiday season.

Microsoft Store brings Black Friday sales to Europe with savings on Xbox, Surface, more
Black Friday week is coming to an end – but it has sure been full of great deals. Microsoft hosted several deals across its range of products and services, which included:
- Surface Pro 4
- Xbox One S
- Xbox One games
- Xbox Live Gold
and more.
Customers have been making good use of the deals, with Microsoft reaching out to OnMSFT to state that they’ve seen “strong demand” for Xbox One over Black Friday.
