Hello Games has finally made a public statement regarding their long-anticipated but poorly-received title, No Man’s Sky. According to a blog post released today on the game’s official website, the small indie team is planning to release The Foundation Update and expresses that there is more to come in the game’s future.
There’s no doubt that No Man’s Sky has been under heat since its release. The company has been accused of false advertisement and many users have demanded refunds after feeling cheated by the released version. The outcry hasn’t fallen on deaf ears, however.
“The discussion around No Man’s Sky since release has been intense and dramatic. We have been quiet, but we are listening and focusing on improving the game that our team loves and feels so passionately about.” The Hello Games team reassured fans that the feedback, both positive and negative, has been heard and that they want to continue making the game better.
The Foundation Update isn’t intended to be a large one. Since the game was launched, it has received numerous bug fixes. Nine weeks since their last update on September 24th, this release is meant to ‘place a foundation’ for things we’ll see in the future including ‘base building’. Furthermore, the updated is still shrouded in mystery as to when we’ll see it and what exactly will be included. For now, all we know is “detailed patch notes will follow and release will be soon.”
