Rudy Huyn, a popular Windows Phone developer who was hired by Dropbox last year also announced the new release on Twitter earlier today:
We don't forget our WP8.1 users, a new update for @Dropbox is available including a lot of new features from our w10 app! #LeaveNoOneBehind
— Rudy Huyn (@RudyHuyn) August 3, 2016
While Huyn is a long-time Windows Phone supporter, it remain to be seen if Dropbox plans to keep updating its Windows Phone 8.1 app going forward. On Windows 10, the Dropbox UWP app currently enjoys several advanced features such as printing support, video casting through DLNA and Miracast and more.
