On its journey to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, Microsoft has just won a significant new customer for its Office 365 online productivity suite. Atkins, a global company that provides professional, technologically-based consultancy and support services has chosen to roll out Office 365 to its 18,600 employees worldwide.
In a new blog post on the Office blog, Microsoft corporate vice president Ron Markezich explains that Atkins has opted for Office 365 E5, which the exec describes has “our most comprehensive Office 365 offering ever.” Indeed, the solution is targeted at companies willing to fully embrace digital transformation as it includes a full set of online services (including email, Skype for Business, file storage and sharing and more) in addition to the main Office productivity apps.
Richard Cross, Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer at Atkins, released the following statement:

Adopting Office 365 is a perfect first step to the cloud because it’s a mature set of services, with new capabilities being released all the time. We’ve already seen great success with Office 365 ProPlus, and we’re excited about the agility and speed of response time that Power BI and Skype for Business Cloud PBX and PSTN Conferencing bring to our 18,600 employees.
Moving to the Microsoft cloud will likely allow the company’s employees to collaborate more efficiently and will also ease the work of IT admins. Microsoft’s Office 365 definitely seems to enjoy some momentum as more and more small businesses, administrations, and big companies are moving to the cloud, and the Redmond giant previously announced this year that eighty percent of the Fortune 500 is currently on the Microsoft cloud.
