Fans of NASCAR rejoice: a new NASCAR game is coming out for Xbox One (among others) this year, reports Polygon.
The new game, called NASCAR Heat Evolution, is a continuation of the NASCAR Heat series, with the same development team behind the metaphorical wheel. NASCAR Heat, launched in 2000 and 2002 on several platforms, was a collaborative project between two game studios. The series was very popular during the time of its release, before being bought by Electronic Arts, and subsequently abandoned in 2009. Stock car racing has never had a game for itself since, with only sporadic appearances in major car simulation series like Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsports. Not until now.
The two partners, Dusenberry-Martin Racing and Monster Games, has been back together to work on NASCAR Heat Evolution. The new game is promised to be a “ground-up” rebuild, with notable features including a dynamic AI to accommodate racers of all levels and an authentic career mode. The game is set for a September 13 launch on both console and PC. A mobile version is reportedly also in the works; no information on it was given, however.
