A developer has managed to installed the good old Windows 95 on an Apple Watch. It has been over two decades since the launch of the operating system, a time when 512MB was more than the storage which came with computers of that time. Apple Watch ships with a very decent set of internals, good enough to run the full-fledged Windows 95 on it — and this is what Nick Lee did.
Obviously, it’s not that easy to do as Apple doesn’t allow users to install other operating systems on their devices, but these developers usually find ways to take care of their cravings of trying new things.
As you can see in the video below, it’s not the most comfortable thing to do. The operating system takes a decent amount of time to boot up, and even perform functions on the smartwatch — the developer is seen opening Hearts game on the smartwatch. Additionally, there’s a tube which is constantly turning the Apple Watch’s crown to prevent it from going to sleep.
I’m sure it sounds great to install a new OS on the wearable, but not the most exciting experience if you’re not a hardcore developer. Take a look at the video below and share your thoughts in the comments below.
