Microsoft has released the Security Bulletin Advance Notification for January 2013 for the very first Patch Tuesday for 2013. Microsoft will be releasing seven security updates, including two critical updates for Windows 8/Windows RT. Microsoft has made no mention about the zero-day flaw found in Internet Explorers 6, 7, and 8, which were revealed recently.
Microsoft will be releasing patches for 12 vulnerabilities in Windows, Office, SharePoint Server, and its Expression Web design tool. Two of the updates are rated critical and addresses remote code execution in Windows 8 and Windows RT. Surprisingly, Microsoft made no mention about the recently discovered zero-day flaw affecting Internet Explorer 6, 7, and 8, in which the company offered a temporary Fix-it solution until a permanent patch was released. January 2013 Patch Tuesday takes place 1PM Eastern Time on January 8th.
